Dear ISCS parents,

Assalamu Alaykum:

We congratulate you on the upcoming occasion of the Month of Ramadan, the month of the Qur'an, the month of Allah’s mercy, forgiveness and liberation from the Fire. We ask Allah to give us the blessings of this month, ameen. Please read the information below regarding timings and other provisions that shall be made during Ramadan at ISCS, inshAllah.

Ramadan timings:

Ramadan timings for KG are from 8am -11:30am and 8am -1pm for Gr. 1-11.  Our school break shall begin 1:00pm,
4th October. Normal school hours of operation shall resume 7:00am, 14th October 2007, inshAllah.

Fasting for ISCS students:  We encourage students Grades 4-11 to fast. However if you do not want your child to fast, write a note to the class teacher and provide a packed lunch for your child since the canteens in Grades 4 -11 will be closed during Ramadan. Daily canteen service will be available for students in Kg 1- Grade 3.

PE information: KG 2 and Gr. 1- 3 pupils will continue their PE activities all other grades are exempt. If you do not want your child to participate in PE, send a note to the class teacher. If you do not want your child to participate in swimming  kindly fill in the slip below, tic the box besides the word no and return it to the class teacher.

Homework: Class work shall remain the same but homework will be reduced during Ramadan. However homework will not be eliminated and students are expected to be responsible learners.

Buses: Pupils using the school transport service will follow the pick-up timings given by the Transport Department at the beginning of the school year. After Ramadan, the new pick-up timings will be communicated to you. Please ensure that own transport children are collected on time at 1:00 pm during Ramadan in the locations mentioned in our previous letter.

KG students will board at 11:15am and Gr. 1–11 students will board at 1:00pm.

Extended day care for students: Early arrival services shall be available from 7:30am during Ramadan. We will not have after school care. Late students must be picked up at the guard houses after 1:15pm.

Parents’ evening: Interim reports for Gr. 1-11 shall be distributed 24 October and parents will be able to set brief but informative meetings with teachers on 25 October. ISCS shall host Parents’ Evening following the Month of Ramadan rather than 5th and 6th of September. Please do not hesitate to call your Director’s office before then if you require a parent/teacher meeting. Our main number is 0 6-534-4444.
